“Within the past four years all the trash that I’ve produced can fit within a 16 oz mason jar,” says Singer, whose blog Trash is for Tossers shines a light on how to live sustainably.” CNN, July 6th 2016
The Trash is for Tossers blog documents the journey of new york based zero waste pioneer and entrepreneur Lauren Singer and offers simple and cost effective advice, recipes and guides on how to ease oneself towards a lifestyle that produces less and less waste.
Its about making small changes, that can actually save time and money as well as the environment: “If I make my own toothpaste, it’s three ingredients, I can do it naked in my kitchen and it takes me 30 seconds and doesn’t cost more than 50 cents.” Lauren´s approach is fun, inspiring and tongue in cheek, which is what inspired the simple cartoony profile with annoying illustrated elements that gets in your face and in the way.
